The Chateau de Fountainebleau

On Saturday, Roman Meghan and I woke up around 7h30 to go to the Chateau at Fountainebleau. Apparently I  had been here before with my parents and my little sister but I didn't even realize it until I came home and saw this picture on my sisters facebook. Throughout the entire day I was taking pictures and once again took too many pictures of gaudy ceilings and gold painted walls. This chateau is much smaller than Versailles, and in many places it is more humbly decorated than Versailles, but the closer you got to the King's chambers, the more extravagant everything became. The pope's room was very close to the Emperor's, which only makes sense seeing as he was Napoleon II's godfather. That little piece of history really stood out to me.
After we had finished the tour we wandered around the gardens and lake and took a nap out of the sight of the security guard who was chasing families and couples off of the grass. Then the three of us decided to trample on the grass by practicing our handstands and cartwheels and other various acrobatic activities. We came home around 5pm and I was able to meet a potential au pair replacement for next year, and I showed her around the room. I ate dinner with the boys and we all watched some good old Avatar, the Last Airbender, together before bed.

  1. You should photoshop the photographer out of the wedding picture and add it to your portfolio.

  2. Cartoon or film? It matters, you know it does.
