I have been home in sunny California for approximately 36 hours now, I am practically on PST and yet my computer reads 21h37 telling me what time my body should think it is. I am aware that now my blog should be dead and I should say goodbye for now, but in a desperate attempt to hold on to the tiny bit of attention I get here I have decided that I will do a post of each city that I went to with my sister with any photos I may have gathered through disposable cameras and an impulse-buy waterproof camera.
I am currently dealing with lovely mundane things such as catching up with friends, bonding with my brother, getting haircuts, going to the beach and trying to organize my life for the next year. It's been a while since I have tried to "organize my life," maybe it's better left in the confusing state it is in. It is more interesting.
So much has happened this past month, with any number of things warranting its own blog post, but that just gets tedious so I am going to combine the big things. So this post is a warning, everything that follows will be just a memory, a great memory, but a memory none the less.
Just my thoughts and excitements as I get accustomed to my new life in France as an Au Pair.

It is late on the 25th and we are back in Paris for one night. I won't go crazy detail, I think that I may post the photos I have city by city but now is not the time.
It was weird coming through Paris on the metro. Everything felt foreign and new but I knew where every tunnel and street led on the way home. It is a very perplexing feeling.

the Travels.
Alright y'all. I have 14 minutes left on this timed session so I will give you the low down.
Julie and I have been traveling the past two weeks or so and we have seen Munich, Vienna, Prague, Dresden and are currently in Berlin. We hop on the night train tonight. We met up with our friend Gaby in Dresden and she is with us until we return to Paris. I don't know how to upload photos using these public computers so it looks like I will have to post them after we get back home.
A brief highlight of each city:
In Munich we took a day trip to the Neuchwanstein Castle which is a beautiful castle that Disney actually designed the Sleeping Beauty Castle after. It was so hot that we bought expensive sunscreen and about half an hour after putting it on the thunderclouds rolled in. By the time we reached the top of the hill/mountain it was hailing and pouring down, we were soaked and freezing. It was pretty cool and we took some very cute pictures but those were lost, so you just have to use your imagination. In Munich itself, besides the history and the tours we really enjoyed the English Garden which had a river which we went swimming in.
In Vienna we stayed with an au pair who I had met in Paris, Sarah. She let us stay with her in her house with her parents and she took us into the city each day and took us to traditional Austrian restaurants were I was able to try Schnitzel. In her community she had a lake for swimming and Julie and I had so much fun swimming and running through the fields of sunflowers next door to her house. The night train out of Vienna is where we lost our camera so those pictures aren't here either.
We took a night train to Prague and what we did in Prague was two days of sight seeing and two nights of serioussly cheap beer drinking. We got over to the Monastery decorated by Monk's bones. By this time I had bought a disposable camera so maybe one day I can show those off, but we also made friends who took pictures so hopefully I will get a hold of those. Prague was great but for time sake I will keep it at that.
Dresden: Our favorite so far.
With that tantalizing line I have to leave it because I can't be bothered to pay another euro to finish this up.
One week till I come home.
Whoah.

The Last Day.
Today I did pretty much nothing all day until I got to work. I sat around trying to think of stuff to accomplish. Work however was more like the last day of school for elementary students. The boys and I went to McDonald's for dinner and then went to Kung Fu Panda 2: fists of Fury. Not something you would expect of a last day in France type of activity but it was pretty great. The boys were great fun and it was weird going to McDonald's for the first time in months in France, let alone on my last night watching an American made film in English. After telling a few stories to the boys and sharing a few (or a lot of) tears with Corinne I have come back to the room with Julie and we are going to try to get some sleep before our 5am set out tomorrow morning.
I don't really feel like we are even leaving to travel. Maybe I will get into the spirit once I get home. I am not putting an itinerary of our travels online due to Taken concerns (because people are that obsessed?) but we are headed off to Germany tomorrow and will be out and about until we head home on the 27th.
I will hopefully get time to blog, but I can imagine it wouldn't be very interesting without the photos that I would be able to upload after I get home. So I imagine after I settle in and get those last posts up then we can just about wrap up this blog.

In the last few weeks in Paris I have been keeping busy and every time I try to blog I find something in my way. Going all the way back to the Pride Parade might get a little boring so I will just recount my favorite things. My sister arrived last Tuesday evening and the boys have been going crazy over her. It makes life really easy when I can separate two siblings by using my own sibling as a decoy when I see flames starting. It is also very cute watching her read to the little one.
Two days ago on my birthday the boys all made/gave me the best presents. Oscar picked out a very chic dress that I can use for almost anything, Victor gave me a purse that is the exact size of my train pass, and Anatole gave me a painted cup that is just too cute and they all drew on a nightgown for me pictures of things we have down together. They drew Harry Potter because I read the first three books out loud to them, they drew a Dalek from Doctor Who because they love me recounting the stories from Doctor Who for them and Anatole drew a big person on the back because I helped him practice them for school. Corinne also gave me a lovely card and a train pass for this coming month. I them met up with my best friends on the Champs des Mars and I didn't expect anything from them because we are all just about out of work, Gaby still managed to buy Sparkling White Wine and Raspberries and we had very classy cocktails on the grass.
We have been planning and packing the past few days and I will soon be down with a project that I will share online here once it is finished and completed in California.
